The 5th Grade Spring Concert will take place Thursday, May 11 at 5:30pm in the Bay Port Auditorium. Students need to arrive at 5:15. Students should not arrive prior to 5:10 as my parent helpers will not be arriving until 5:10. The concert should be about 30 minutes. Doors to the auditorium will open at 5:10. Please plan accordingly.
Please do not allow your child to bring their cell phone with them. It is not appropriate for them to have their cell phone with them on stage.
When your child arrives they should follow the signs and report back stage to check in and line-up on the risers.
When the concert is over students in rows 1 and 2 will be dismissed to the commons. Students in rows 3 & 4 will be dismissed into the auditorium.
Students should wear their choir t-shirts. Students may wear jeans, jean shorts, skirts, leggings, dress shorts, khaki shorts, khaki pants, dress pants etc. All clothing must be compliant with school rules (i.e. length of shorts & skirts). I ask if at all possible that students avoid wearing athletic shorts/pants, yoga pants, sweatpants, etc. Students should wear clean and comfortable shoes. Tennies are fine! Girls will not be allowed to wear heels for safety reasons. I also ask that girls do not wear accessories (i.e. scarves) over their t-shirts. Students may choose to wear a long sleeve shirt underneath their choir shirt if they wish. However, it does tend to get warm in the gym and most likely your child will be most comfortable if they do not wear a long sleeve shirt underneath their choir shirt. Students may choose to wear whatever color of shorts, pants, skirts, leggings, long sleeved shirts they wish with their choir t-shirt. All of this being said please do not go out and purchase special clothes for your child to wear to the concert. The most important thing is that your child is at the concert and has on their choir t-shirt. I will have extra t-shirts with me that students may borrow should you have a t-shirt emergency.

I will need a few volunteers in order to put together this concert. I am in need of 1 more volunteer to assist with the Dress Rehearsal on May 11 from 1:30-3:00. I will also need 5 volunteers to assist with lining up and checking in students. Lastly, I will need 1 volunteer to record the concert. Volunteers will need to arrive at 5:00 and will get reserved seating for themselves and their families.
I truly appreciate your willingness to assist - I really could not prepare the children or put on the concert without your help. Please remember that in order to assist with attendance you do need to be a approved district chaperone.
